Stand alone 400 watter

Hey guys,

In your opinion what is the best stand alone 400watt MH SE bulb (ie no actinic supplement). This post is for a friend who asked my advice. First thing I think of is XM 20k.

I'll give the XM 20K 400 watter my vote. Color is outstanding
and growth is fairly decent for a 20K bulb.

I like both the Hamilton 14K and Radium on a HQI ballast.

xm 20k on an M59 ballast very blue 136ppfd
radium on an HQI ballst, less blue more like most bulbs marketed as 14k on the market 147ppfd

I intend to change over to Helios bulbs on my HQI ballastwith my next switch. 6 months on the Radiums come up fast.

xm 20k's on mag ballast!

AquaConnect 14K on HQI or Electronic, has the same fluorescence as the XM20K but is much brighter. It also has more PAR (way more if used on HQI).
