Stand bracing

So I have a standard LFS 75 gallon stand, looks like 1x4's. Trying to get my Triton 34 sump into it, hole at the top is 1/4" too narrow and there is a center brace in the back (see pics below). Could I get away with removing that brace and leaving the front one or should I remove that brace, get my sump in there and put the brace back?

Those stands are built as poorly as they can get away with. If they felt they needed that brace there, they needed that brace there.

I have done exactly what has been already suggested several times in the past.
Put the brace back in with screws so it's easier to remove for next time.

I just disassembled one that came with my 90 to throw in the garbage. It was held together with staples and no glue. I was shocked.

If you’re feeling DIY, I’d shave off that 1/4” so you can get it in, and put the brace back in with screws and some good quality construction glue, such as PL Premium.
