Stand for 175 bowfront...

In about 1 1/2 months I will be recieving an oceanic 175g bowfront tank. Besides adding support to the floor I also have to build a stand. Now on a smaller tank this wouldnt be an issue, but this tank will probably weigh around 1800lbs. Has anyone ever built a stand this size? Any ideas/suggestions?

I built one for a 180 gal.The easy way is to build a frame out of 2x4 and cover it with your choice of wood.

I have to agree with techrider...Over do it...better safe then sorry!!

Unless you're an experienced cabinetmaker, I'd follow the advice of most folks here and go with the 2x4 construction method. Be careful to have the weight bearing on the 2x4's and not on the fasteners holding them together!
