Stand Question

Hey Everyone,
Currently I have a custom made stand for my 75 gallon tank. So its 4 feet wide and 20" deep. A local reefer has a 120 Reef Ready tank for sale at a good price and was thinking about how I could use my existing stand. The 120 is 4'x2'x2' so the width would be fine but the depth would not. Anyone have any good ideas on ways I could "add" on to the exisiting stand? Its wood construction so it shouldn't be hard but I'm just having a hard time deciding what would need to be done. Probably just adding 2x4's to the backside would work with some verticle 2x4's for support. Most of the weight would be on the existing section of the stand anyway and that thing is way over built.

Guess I was just wondering if anyone else had done something like this.

Thanks,
Jeff

got a picture of the current stand?

Adding another 4" of support should not be a challenge, but you'll want to ensure that it provides the same amount of load bearing support as the rest of the stand. The weight will be distributed around the perimeter of the tank (assuming the tank sits in a trim), so there's no real expectation that the load would be mostly on the existing section of the tank.

Yeah, I'd want to see pics too, but it's most likely not that difficult to add supports, and maybe a full sheet sub top to tie it all together.
