Ok, so now that i have determined im not going to use my aqueon tank that had a chip in it when filling, i ordered a new Marineland reef ready tank. So when i bought my first aqueon 180 (used) i reinforced the stand on the bottom for the sump and then i ran 4x4's in the corners and then replaced the 1x4's with 2x4's in the center as its easier to hit a 2x4 than a 1x4 with a screw.
Now i just removed the 4x4's in the corner and it feels a little wobbly like before i reinforced it. I'm assuming its ok because its has only more than the original in terms of strength but its just a little unnerving. Since the Marineland now has overflows in the corner i cant run those corner braces which really tightened the whole stand up.
The screw holes from the 4x4's have been filled with a total of 14 screws removed. 2 front and back 3 on side (per side).
Over all stand seems to be in decent shape. im just curious of your thoughts.
