star polyp problem

I have a colony of star polyps that I've had for a couple months that are doing great, they have spread nicely, and appear to be very healthy. I recently added another smaller rock with some star polyps from my local store that has been in my tank for about 2 weeks that is not doing good. It has started to come apart, and the number of polyps that opens up is down to about a 1/10 of what the colony was to start with. Could this have to do with location in my tank? They are getting good light but not as much water movement as the other colony.

it is more than likely location related.

Try a move and see.

I had the same problem, I kept moving them and nothing... so then I took them back to the LFS where I bought them and the owner let me put it in one of their tanks for a month, and It did alot better.... I then got it back in my tank, and the glue came off of my shell!... hehe, yeap... I lost them :-(

my GSP dont spread onto other rocks cuz i dont keep them in a high flo erea..
