I just got some star polyps from my local fish store today. My tank has been ap12 has been cycling for 4 weeks now and all teh levels been at 0 for 2 weeks. The polyps have not came out but they still have that bright purple color on the outside. Is this normal? How much flow do they need over them?

Star Polyps are a hardy species, I think they will be fine. They like moderate flow & lighting, so if you have those conditions in your display, place them there. I have seen them stay closed for a week before.
