Starboard thickness for bare bottom tank?

Hi everyone!

I'm going bare bottom on my 210 aggressive tank and will be using king starboard to line the bottom of the glass tank. What thickness will I need? About $125 shipped for 3/8", $180 for 1/2" from tapplastic.com. (don't want to use cheaper PVC sheets or hdpe cutting board equivalents).

Just needed to make sure it lays flat enough with no curl up edges so I can silicon it down.

Thanks!

starboard does not warp but siliconing the edges are suggested IMO. Keeps detritus from going under the board and causing excess nitrates to build.

I use starboard in fw and sw tanks and I like the bit thicker .375 if doing minimal display or you need rocks all over to keep it down, but in reefs we normally have enough rocks it's not an issue.

I wouldn't worry about the silicone. I have used these in all sorts of systems and if the bottom is clean and there is weight pushing down on the starboard the amount of detritus that can get under them is a fraction of a mm. I have seen people try and make a seal from silicone on these and not only does silicone not stick well, but they create gaps or small raised areas so the starboard no longer is totally flat, then detritus has a lot more room to pile up.
