ok so heres the deal.
my very first coral piece i bought about 7 months ago (i think) from pet warehouse on kearney. it was some white star polyps with a small kenya tree. when i got home and looked in the bag i had a hitchhiker a small starfish abot the size of a quarter. i thought it was a bonus and was pleased. the starfish hasnt grown very fast and still isnt much bigger than a quarter. my collection has since grown to probably 20 different species of coral and i have decided to start a new tank of mostly sps and zoos. my first piece of sps i purchased was from tropical wonders. it was a very beautiful ORA blue orchid tort. when i left for work i saw my little starfish passing by across my tort. 9 hours later when i got home from work i did my look over to make sure the snails havent knocked anything over and i noticed my favorite piece was white as snow. i reached in and picked it up and that hitchhiker fell off the backside of my frag. i kicked on the light and it instantly started to turn purple again. but only on the top half inch or so. so i guess what i'm asking is my starfish the culprit? and will my nice orchid tort recover? answer to the first question. no nothing has been in contact with my frag except the occasional snail and that startfish. everything is spaced accordingly in my tank so there is no aggresivness between corals. i will bring the culprit to the frag demo this saturday for some help id'ing the starfish. any help would be appreciated
thanx
