Starfish for a 10g FOWLR?

not too sure but i think a chocolate star fish would be ok, they are tough, hardy critters anyways

get something u can feed urself or else it'd starve.... linkia sp. = starve, chocolate star = thrive if u feed it (shrimp pieces, squid, meaty foods)

what about the fromia stars? I really like starfish and I'd like a bright one if possible.

there are red chocolate chip looking starts.... rule of thumb for stars is....

if its smooth and plain looking = reef safe and doesnt eat food and will starve.

if its very colorful and pointy surface and beautiful looking = NOT reef safe and does eat meat. will not starve.

chocolate chips tend to munch on corals. linkia in a 10g is not a good idea. it's going to die and you're gonna spike up your ammonia level

you could feed a brittle star daily(be careful as they're known to get tears in their caps from larger food chunks.Also the green ones have reputation for eating docile or sleeping fish)..also the linkia multflora do well in smallerr tanks but I really think a 10 gallon is pushing it.Plus,the linkia are quite difficult to find.

chocolate chip may deplete your critters in your sandbed but if that doen't bother you,then go for it.

I've had a red serpent star in a 10 gallon reef for a couple of years.

I spot feed it a piece of meaty food (shrimp or krill) once a week using a skewer. You might have to do that after lights out if your fish are as good at stealing food as my clownfish :lol: .
