What kind of starfish is this? Will it cause any problems in my tank?

Looks like a sand sifter. It requires alot of sand in a large tank to thrive.

The problem is that it will decimate most of the beneficial microfauna in your sand, and then it will slowly die of starvation. Best left in the ocean.

+1 By "a lot of sand in a large tank" we are talking about 200+ gallon tank for one star. This is what the experts are recommending.
