How can You tell when a starfish is not doing well? I have a red linckia that just sticks to the glass right at the top going back and forth. I've only had it for a week.

Usually the body will get discolored spots, start disintgrating.
Starfish are very very sensitive to changes in osmotic pressure. Did you acclimate it carefully, over time? What are you feeding it? What is your water chemisty?

No spots or disintigration yet. I acclimated for 2 hours via drip. Chem. is good for what I can test; sg. 1.024, ph. 8.3, am. 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0. Its a 135 gal. I,ve had up for 2 years, its just my first star and don't know what to expect.
