Starfish!!!

I got myself a starfish. How do you know if it's alive or not. It used to be a little greyish yesterday but today it's white like the color of the live sand.

I got a serpent I thought was dead...all it's legs fell off and it disappeared. MONTHS later it emerged, all legs fully regrown.

If yours if visible...you should be able to tell if it's alive... What kind of star fish is it?
