Starphire at Glass Cages

Glass Cages lists Starphire glass by name as an option on their website now. They even have a piece of it pictured next to regular glass. Still has the PPG sticker on it.

I just called and talked to Top @ Glass Cages for individual ppg/starfphire glass piece pricing. Here is what I asked about and pricing he gave me:

36"x30"x1/2" = ~$90
48"x30"x1/2" = ~$120
60"x30"x1/2" = ~$170

36"x30"x3/4" = ~$140
48"x30"x3/4" = ~$240
60"x30"x3/4" = ~$325


96"x130"x3/4" = ~$22/sq.ft. <--whole sheet


Hopefully I recorded everything correctly. This pricing should of course be considered not official. I do not represent them. If you need pricing you should call them directly.

Not yet, I have been in Atlanta all week. Haven't had time to think about the tank. I did get to go to Cappuccino Bay while I was down there. WOW!

I just ordered my 180 gallon thank there with starfire glass on the front and sides. This option was an additional 150.00. Hope that helps!

I have a 6 foot piece if anyone wants it? It started out at 10 feet then a few beers latter and now it is 6feet.

Did you order from glasscages.com? How was your experience with them? I've been looking at having a 240g built with the starfire glass. I've heard good and bad about them. Thanks.

Well it is about 7'x3' 1/2 inch starfire.

I have been out there and talked to Tom and if you see him in person he is a nice guy but some people have problems with his phone etiquette. The fact is he builds a strong tank some think too strong as he uses both bracing and braces the bottom but if you want something different you decide and give him the directions and he will build it that way as long as he thinks it is strong enough. I think he is conservative in taking chances and tries to avoid any problems. I have had great service and dealings with him and would buy a tank from him if and when I need one.
