starting 400 gal., need skimmer, should I

is this going to be a fowlr tank or a reef? kinda pricey ive always just bought a standard tank and installed acrylic baffles where i want them.i have a couple that im not using if your interested in them pm me.

I hope that wet/dry is going into a FOWLR setup and not REEF, or you may have some problems down the road.

I would recommend a properly rated skimmer to match your setup unless money is no object... usually 2 skimmers costs more than 1. Reefers normally consider 2 skimmers when they have one that is really working well, but too small for the upgrade, so they add on a 2nd skimmer which is less than buying a big one that matches their system.

What would the problems be if turning into REEF later on?

I currently have a 125 at my office with a refugium and a coralife skimmer that has live rock.

wet/dry's are not recommended for reef tanks.Im not sure what the reasoning behind that, but im sure someone will chyme in.
