Starting a 250 Gal

I am looking for a local shop to help me set up/maintain a 250 gal or so tank.

Looking to do it once and do it right, as it will be in my office and i dont want any smells/water damage etc.

Can folks point me in the right direction as to trustworthy people that will actually do the job right and stay on top of things.

If you look at the stickies at the top of this forum there's a list of local fish stores. If you want to do it yourself we can help you also.

Ive been to some and am wondering if the group as a whole has a consensus as to who is the STL guru. Looking to make this tank very nice and dont want someone who isnt at the top of their game.

It all depends on who the hired person is that does the actual work.

If I was going to be spending that type of money on maintenance and tank setup I would definitely meet with every single lfs in the area and look at their different options. I would also show them pictures of what you expect your tank to look like and see if that is something they can accomplish.

Best of luck, I'll be interested to see what you end up with.

I'm not sure there will be a consensus, I think people have their favorites, or ones they don't care for as much. I have a couple I go to, and a couple I avoid.

Also you have to remember this is a "DIY" type of forum. I think 98% of the people here have build there own tank and maintain their own.

if it was me, i would ask every local store for some references and have some intelligent questions to ask every customer. That can help weed out the LFS that cant handle the job
