Starting a new?

Ok I tried getting rid of all the aptaisas I had in my 25 gal and with all the methods I have tried the little suckers keep coming. I have a new tank and would love to just start over. I would like some input on if I could save my live rock even if I have to kill it. Sun bleaching is the only true way I know if to get rid of them for sure. I also would like to know about what is the best way to start up a tank from scratch. I have a 75 gal reef ready Oceanic. Sump system. Protien skimmer. Uv sterilizer. Fluval and Metal Halide 175 watt at 10.000k. Time wise what would it take to get just the water ready with all the lights going for 8 hours. Im hoping to minimize my algae bloom lol. Thank you for any input.

If you dont mind losing the LR leaving it out of the tank to dry out should do the trick I would think. You could then use that rock as base rock in the larger tank. There is also Joe's Juice, injecting kalkwasser or near boiling water into the aptasia that should kill it. I have also heard of peope encrusting them in the putty used to attach corals.

Proper quarentine procedures and using live rock that you have cultured from good live rock are both practices that will keep this problem from reoccuring. My take is that with proper maintainance though, you can keep your aiptasia problems under control. You just have to keep at it.

I have tried all of these. Shrimp, Joes Juice, Water Changes, and Boiling water. 2 months of this and the little things are everywhere. The rock is live Fuji Bana. I also have tons of Bristle Worms. The only fish I have been able to keep alive are Cardnials. I put in different Fish then 1 to 2 days death. All my lvls are in the good range. Phospates where high, but have gone down. So I took out the fish and Stopped feeding in hopes to also starve them of any food. But when they are floating in the water even baby ones, Im at a loss and a little frustrated. All water has been DI water. Any way I figure starting over probably will be best. Should I start with just the water and sand. Then add some rock. Or just put it all in and let it go?
