starting fallow period

The last of my fish died last week...pretty sure ich was causing most of the stress leading to fish not thriving. Going to go at least 12 weeks with no fish, couple of questions....
-will ich survive the fallow period on any of the following livestock: mushrooms, zoas, xenia, bta?
-what can/should I add to make for a healthier fish-less tank during fallow period? Snails? cleaner Shrimp?
Many thanks for any input on successfully ridding my tank of ich

Just going fallow will take care of the problem, crypt will die with no fish to host. Feed your corals like you normally would, and bump up your clean up crew to keep algae blooms under control. Dip ANY new coral, and quarantine ANY new fish for at least a month. We always treat with coppersafe or prazipro during QT. The fallow period really sucks, but is totally worth it. We had to learn the hard way too :(

Temperature affects the necessary fallow period. If you want to wait less, raise temp to level the non-fish can safely bear.

Thanks gnu and wooden reefer. Have learned the hard way for sure. I have NO clean up crew so I guess that should be my next step...as far as temp I am getting myself a small heater for xmas so I can bump up the temp a bit

This is true with FW ich. SW ich is not affected much, if at all, by raising temp.

The stress didn't kill your fish, ich did. Ich can be deadly even when all other factors are perfect.

This is true with FW ich. SW ich is not affected much, if at all, by raising temp. The fallow period needs to be 10+ weeks because of the wildly unpredictable time frame for cysts releasing their theronts. I would never trust a temp increase to compensate for this huge variable.
