Starting my propogation business...

no visitors. There is lots of super-duper-ultra-top-secret stuff going on here. The location is hidden deep within the rolling countryside of Ford County... Technically with a Paxton mailing address.

Also curious about the hairy tanks...and I read through almost all of this to try and find what took the OP away from the greenhouse idea, but didn't see that it ever said?

Money took me away from the greenhouse idea. Its still on the plan for stage 2 (and I think I mentioned that originally). The hairy stuff? thats white indoor/outdoor carpeting. Wholesalers use similar stuff because the sea anemones can't stick to it very well, and I don't have all day to coax those bastards one by one off a rock... I just happened to get ahold of some that was white. So i pretty much have a room with a bunch of fuzzy, white hot tubs.

Sooo...the fur goes under the water?

We have a coral greenhouse if you ever want to chat. Someone linked us a couple times here, but I don't think we ever heard from you. :)

yes, the tanks are completely lined with the "fur" as you put it :D I saw in previous posts that people had lined tanks with lace or gauze type substances to keep the anemones from readily adhering to the walls, and Calfo had mentioned this tip that the wholesalers use.

sorry I haven't hunted you down! We should talk shop some time, as I think it would be really interesting to see your views on greenhouse propagation and the hidden pros/cons that can come with it.

I'm sorry, chewitback, I didn't mean to sound put off by not being looked up!

Sure, if you like, you could call me or text anytime at 919 875 8055, or email me at gracer@reeffarm.com. :)

Cool! What is the fur made of, do you know? How long has it been in there now?

Look forward to having another farmer to chat with! :)
