Starting NPS only tank!

On a NPS only tank do I really need a skimmer?

Yes, very much so IMO, with the huge amount of food you'll be adding it's one of the best ways of nutrient export.

I agree. But I don't think you'll want the skimmer running 24/7 as it will just skim out all the food you add in.

For sure, in fact I run three. With near constant food input I want to pull it out before it breaks down into phosphate and nitrate. Out with the old in with the new!
