Starting over help

I need to restart my tank. I am emptying everything . I have had multiple parasites in tank and must start over. I was told only bleach will kill all Parasites. I hate the toxicity and smell. Is there anything else I could do. All rocks and sand are being replaced.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I've been doing a lot of research. You can basically disinfect by filling everything with tap water/fresh water. Including equipment. If you don't like to use a little bleach you can use vinegar. Let it sit for a few hours then completely empty and the main key is letting it air dry. I would also ad that running a towel over all of the surfaces to remove any biofilm is extremely important as well.

+1 Letting it air dry for a few days will ensure that everything dies. I would fill a trash can with freshwater, let it all soak for 2 days, then air dry for 3. Even longer if you want to be safe. Now is not the time to be impatient, as it will literally determine how your future tank will turn out. The longer the better.

What did you have in your tank? What about corals? Are you keeping corals? The rocks, frag plugs, etc could be contaminated too, depending on what you had.

All corals are now in hospital tank where I will keep them up to 90 days.

All rock will be tossed. Not taking any chances. All fish will be given to facility foe treatment and then donated. My fish that are left are impervious to the multiple diseases that I had be still might be carriers. I am not taking any chances.

Are you sure that I dont need bleach? Vinegar also stinks.

Vinegar is a lot tolerable than bleach, especially if you have a reaction to the smell of bleach.

You can always just leave your tank fishless for 76 (don't quote me on that) days. Kills all parasites except maybe uronemia.
