Starting to suspect that this mushroom doesn't exist

Lavender Mushroom (Rhodactis sp.)

At least not in that color. People ordering from Liveaquaria are reporting that they are receiving green or brown. And I have never seen one in stores. Does anybody here have one?

I had one a long time ago. It had a green disc and the frilly stuff was definitely purple/lavender. Unfortunately it died during a power outage :(

I have one that I bought over a year ago. It looks just like the pic in person. I will take a pic tomorrow sometime and post it up.

I got one from Vivid Aquariums in L.A. It did really well for about 6 months but unfortunately it died a few weeks ago.

They're actually pretty common from Vietnam, they come in as "Lavender Mushrooms" but are prone to browning out and turning green without good water conditions. Chances are most of the ones from LA will turn into those with clean water under bluer lighting, they're just very finicky.

That is where I got mine as well. I went today to look around and they had a few. The picture is mine from a camera phone. Much nicer in person.

I didn't see the anemone today when I was there but I wasn't on the lookout for it either.

Very common from Fiji and Tonga as well. I'd get them in every shipment, never had issues with them loosing color though.

I know they've been coming in from Vietnam. They come in from transhipping green or brown too. The people in Vietnam aren't that great with their colors and some of the coral order names are deceiving

It's called red sea hairy mushroom. I have a big colony. Here's the pic of it. It grows pretty fast if it likes your tank.

They are called hairy mushrooms. I have the green ones. I have seen blue hairy mushrooms but not as common I think

I had some green and purple hairy shrooms in my old 45. tried adding them to my 220 and the lighting makes them look kind of colorless
