Starting up a 90g Anemone Tank

Hello. I have a 90g I was using as a QT and wouldn't ya know it, decided to keep it going. At the same time the anemone in my reef split and long story short, now have 5 baby RBTA's.

I wanted to gear the tank towards the anemone a bit. I have mixed reef where my other RBTA's do great but hoping to fill this whole tank with them.

Do you guys recommend still using a skimmer or is the dirty water good for them?

Anything else I should think of?

I haven't picked out fish yet, but clowns. Do you think I could do a couple species or should I just stick to one species of clown?

Any idea on how many I could keep longterm in a 90? My Ocerlaris are 12 years old now, but I plan to keep them in the reef.

Thanks in advance :D

Pictures to come later.

Seagrass and BTAs would be cool. I just love the look of nems in sea grass tanks. yes i would still use a skimmer, or an algae turf scrubber. I don't think a 90g is large enough to have more than one species of clowns in it. You could maybe do 2 species but i wouldn't do any more than that, especially if they're paired up

It sounds like you want to set up a clownfish harem tank. BRS did a youtube series a while back. You should watch it.

BTAs really like clean water.

With a clown harem, it's best to stick with one species all from the same clutch.

You need to feed a lot. 5-7 times per day. A lot. You need really beefed up filtration.

Thank you for your reply.

Why would I need to feed 5-7 times a day? My clowns now only get fed twice a day, but that is two clowns (and other fish) in a 120.

I think a Harem could be cool. I will check out the videos!

If they need that clean of water I might go skimmer and carbon dosing like I do for my reef. I have done a macro algae tank before and loved it, but not wanting to do the maintence for that or a ATS at this point.

I appreciate your reply! Thank you.

Feeding that much is a method used to minimize aggression. It keeps 'em all fat and happy, too. So no, a clown pair doesn't need to be fed that much.
