Hi, m RBTA is in trouble and I'm looking for help. I've had it since last July and it actually split in half in October.
Since then, they both have been in decline. Now, one is tiny and bleached, while the other is growing smaller and has darkened into a greenish brown, with limp tentacles. Obviously they are very stressed. They look similar to the pictures on the starving/sick section of the Karen Rose Anemone site.
Tank Parameters:
pH 8.2
SG 1.023
No nitrites nor ates
Alkalinity is normal
I use two (one actinic) compact fluroescent 36 watt bulbs for lighting.
I usually feed the anemone Prime Reef cut up once a week. However, it has not been taking it lately.
I think it may just be really hungry, and hopefully salvageable. Anyone have any ideas about this? The Karen Rose site says lots of light, clean water and food will help. Today I moved the live rock that the anemone is on up closer to the light and I do a 25% water change every week.
Any ideas how to get the anemone to eat? Or if this is even really the issue? Can my BTA be saved? Thanks
