Steps to Hypo and QT

Well iv had a few bad experiences in adding fishes to my tank and i want to do it the right way this time. If any one can explain to me the steps and whats needed for both Q.T and doing the hyposalinity treatment. for example, tank,filtration,time, salinity level, etc. sorry in advance if this is a repost. Any help would be highly appriciated. thanks
