Sterilizing a QT

I just lost a Flame Angel and Coral Beauty to ich. Over two weeks in QT without issue, then the spots started showing up. First 1/2 dose of Cuppramine added immediately. About 36 hours later, just before the 2nd 1/2 dose was to be added they both died. The ich had spread further.

Not sure if it was the ich or the Cuppramine or both. I know my water parameters were in line. It's a dedicated QT.

I'd like to sterilize the tank so I can turn around and introduce new fish asap. New sponge filter media seeding in display sump. I'm using an Ehiem canister filter and want to make sure that every nook and cranny (tubes, ceramic media) get sterilized.

My thought was to put in some Cuprisorb first to eliminate the Cuppramine, then to put a small amount of bleach in the tank so that it runs through the filter. Then scrub with lightly chlorinated water. Then flush with fresh water and dechlorinate.

Your last paragraph is a way to do it or do 1 bleach to 3-4 parts water and scrub and rinse. Let dry if you don't smell bleach it's good to go

I would suggest tank transfer method to start, then into the qt tank. That way you have eliminated ich for sure.

Angles are also sensitive to copper meds

The angles started out in the QT and were the only fish in there. Now dead, no need to worry about them on the fish, just want to make sure the filter, tank and pvc are all free from ich.

Next time perhaps the tank transfer method to start. Hyposalinity. Before copper.

I've emptied out most of the sw replacing it with fresh and bleach. Will scrub with a 3-4 bleach solution after. Then run fresh water through for a couple days. Then leave to dry for a couple days.
