I have an aquaclear filter with sponge that i use for my quarantine tank. after being exposed to copper and prazipro and who knows what diseases, is there anything i can do to make the sponge safe for re-seeding in my main tank?

and if not, is there at least something i can do to the filter so i can use it to seed new sponges in my main tank?

I just buy new sponges (they're cheap), and then always keep 1 or 2 going down in my sump.

I agree. Although logic seems to say that if a fish can go from the QT to the DT, a well rinsed sponge should be safe too. But, as HumbleFish says, these sponges are really cheap. I buy them online by the dozen.

ok cool. i didnt really want to go to the store today (i want to start seeding today) but i guess i should just buy a bunch and not worry about cleaning.
