Once again the Marine Corps decided to change their mind and keep my family in Southern California for another 2-3yrs. My new duty station will be much closer to home (50 miles vs 110 miles one way). Since i am not going any where for the next couple years i decided to get my tank up and running. I pretty much have everything for the new setup except the 6305 and the custom ATB protein skimmer.

Since i am no longer moving to either Texas or Colorado i have to keep my system as simple as possible to keep my electricity cost down therefore the prop tank will have to go. I will be running Zeovit instead of Large U.V sterilizer, cryptic zone and large fuge.

Some info on my new setup. Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Display tank:

96x48x24 1" peninsula style tank, acrylic all around with euro brace top and no cross brace. External overflow box and 2 external waveboxes. Each box will house 2 tunze wavebox pumps.

Sump:
72x40x20 250g, 6 baffles, 2 6" filter socks holder, open center compartment for refugium.

Stand:
Custom build by John Jr out of 3x3 square tubing. All the legs are removable, powder coated and heavy line-x (Thank you Ken Konadog).

Light rack:
Custom aluminum by John Jr 1" square tubing 96x46x24 tall, also have a thick coat of line-x

Filtration:
Large custom made Zeovit reactor by Bob at reef mania 11" body 24" tall external reactor
Custom Large ATB Calcium reactor 16" body 36" tall
Custom H&S protein skimmer A-400
200+ lbs live rock in sump
500lbs live rock in main display
SSB with larger grain

Lighting:
- 4 Sfiligoi Exaggerate pendant running 400w Ushio 14k with SLS PS ballast
- 4 ATI power module 4 bulbs fixture will run along the side to help with the light spread. Each fixture will have 1 fiji purple, 1 ATI pro color, 1 Aqua blue plus, 1 atinic plus

Flow:
4 tunze waveboxes, 4 tunze stream 6305, ATB Flow star 4200 return

Cooling and heating:
Large Deltec eco cooler rated for 500g, Tunze chiller for back up just in case the fans and cooler can't keep the tank temp below 78 degrees, 4 Dayton 6" axle fans flow across the top of the tank on temp controller , 2 Dayton 6" axle fans flow across the sump.

Heating: 6 250w ebo Jagger heater on temp controller

Aquascape plan:

Two large island at each end of the tank, low aquascape.

I am going to move into my new home on 1 March and the build will begin :D. The tank will be SPS dominate with some nice LPS and Zoas.

Picture time :D

That wave looks pretty nice, Id be concerned about the noise factor, depending where you place your tank might end up be annoying after a while.

Looks like you have done your homework. Nothing but the best. Now I will sit back and enjoy the build. Goodluck with everything.

great looking wave you have going there. Are you using the wave as your primary water movement or are you going to use other forums of water movement to supplement?

How do you have your overflow setup for the rising and falling water level being a peninsular? I am setting up a peninsular 280 and the overflow is on the one end like yours but internal. What method of overflow did you use, i was going to go with the BeanAnimals overflow design.

Thanks and that is going to be another awesome looking tank.

Hifoo, once the durso installed the noise will go away...

Jason, i use home made CJ stand pipe and raise the water level inside the box the same height as the bottom of the overflow box teeth. Make sure you have your tank mfg cut the overflow teeth about 3" deep.

I am going to have 3 drain, 2 use to feed the protein skimmer and the other going to the sump to the filter sock...

As for flow, i plan to have 4 tunze 6305 for now and will add more as needed....

If you need any help with the durso let me know
