I would like to get a maxima clam but wanted to see if I had the right set up first 20gl long with 130watt PC

No. I'm afraid that's not enough light. I've seen several maximas die under similar lighting setups. Even 96w over a 10 gallon. (Usually takes about 6 months for them to starve)

You could get a lower light clam depending on the rest of your setup.

Maximas and croceas are the most light demanding of the giant clams... I would start reasearching squamosas and deresas if your wanting a lower light clam.....and then you need excelent water quality...meaning consistant constant calcium and alkalinity and ph levels....and the absence of fish and parasites that will bother the clams...

THey are not really well suited to such a tank. They are available small, but get big fairly quickly. Look into H. hippopus. It's low light, and will stay smaller longer

I went with the hippopus and yeah its not as pretty as the maximas its still a cool clam and does well with low light and less than ideal water conditions. much cheaper too :)
