Stirring up the bottom?

Nitrates, nitrites, phosphates etc. are all O.K. according to my test kits. I can't figure out my calcium test kit- but I am sure that has nothing to do with algae! We have cut down our feedings to every other day and we have cut down the light from 11 hours to 8 hours.
