Stocking List for a Biocube 29

I just moved apartments and bought a biocube 29. It's sort of bittersweet as I had to tear down my previously owned 85 gal and give most of my fish to a new home (they upgraded to a 1200 gal pool at a large, LFS who takes pretty good care of fish).

Anyway, one fish that I couldn't part with was my little blue dot toby who is currently in a 20 gal aquarium waiting for me to set up the biocube.

Will he be ok in a tank the size of a biocube?

I was thinking about getting a few other fish as well.

At maximum, I was considering getting a McCosker's wrasse, a percula clown, and possibly a type of blenny (probably a tail spot).

Would this tank accomdate those fish comfortably?

the Blue dot will be to large for the biocube IMO.

I also think the Wrasse will be to large eventually.

the clown and the blenny seem fine.

hope that helps, Welcome to the world of small tanks!

I'm a bit worried about the puffer but he is a must have as I can't bear to get rid of the little guy. I'm going to give it a shot with him to see how he does. If he seems stressed I can make other arrangements. He's not much of a swimmer so I'm hoping he'll do alright.

So a no on the wrasse huh? I was most concerned about that one (in terms of new purchases). McCosker's only get to be about 3" max but since wrasse are such active swimmers getting one of those was something I definitely wanted to check on. Do you have any experience with small wrasses?

I thought the McCosker was larger, my mistake. I had a 6 line wrasse in my biocube and he was okay but liked to bully any new addition. One day he jumped.

If you must keep the puffer I would not add anything else.

So you'd vote to keep it just him. I can do that if it seems the best option. His health/happiness is my first priority.

Any other input regarding addition stock or keeping the puffer solo?

Well a quick search pulls up that the puffer will grow to 6 inches and needs a minimum of 50g tank. You are already hitting the limit of the biocube IMO.

im from milford. who took the fish?

Tropicorium. They're in a frag tank. A one spot foxface, convict tang, and a flame angel. Go say hi :).

ryeguyy are you thinking of the same species as I am? Canthigaster solandri. I've only seen maxes of about 5." Mine is 4 years old and 3 inches long. I don't think he'll get bigger.
