Stocking List-Need Advice!?!

Hi, this is my first time posting in this part of Reef Central"s forums. I have only kept small reef tanks so please bare-with me and excuse my newbness. I am hoping to convince my parents to purchase a used 180 gallon at my lfs. I do have a few questions about what i should stock in the tank. Im planning for it to be a FOWLR tank.

Heres what i hope to stock in it but could really use some opinions and advice

Enchelycore paradalis-Dragon Moray
Chaetodon semilarvatus-Golden Butterflyfish(pair)
Pomacanthus imperator-Emperor Angelfish
Choerodon fasciatus-Harlequin Tuskfish
Gomphosus varius-Bird Wrasse(pair)
Naso lituratus-Blonde Naso Tang
Xanthichthys mento-Crosshatch Triggerfish(pair)
Arothron mappa-Mappa Puffer

What do you think? Will this work out? Will everyone coexist peacefully? Is this too big a fish load?

Any thoughts and/or input would be greatly appreciated.

That is way too many fish, even for a 180. Plus a few of the fish wouldn't be suitable for the tank size as adults -- mostly the crosshatch and emperor angel. I also wouldn't recommend putting a dragon eel in with expensive fish as they are piscivorous and could possibly eat any and all of those fish.

Are your parents buying the fish too? The Dragon moray goes for $1500 here.

This is to many fish at ADULT sizes. For instance, I have a 180 gallon tank. I have an emperor angel and blueface angel. I purchased both as juveniles. I've had them about a year and they should be good in that tank for another two years. After that I'll need a bigger tank or have to trade or sell them.

If I were in your shoes and someone else was paying for everything I'd have a group of about 5-7 of the golden butterfly fish. I think that would make a beautiful display tank. JMO good luck convincing your parents to purchase the tank.

blonde naso tang is N. Elegans, regular naso tang is N. Lituratus. i agree with karaim but dragons are comparable in expense to a lambourgini as a baby.

I'm with karaim and baldwin. You could go with a dwarf angel, and a smaller tang (purple tang).
