Stocking Question

Would this be to much for my 55g. Yes I know the tang will out grow it and ill get rid of him when its time.

1 Saddleback Clown
1 Naked Clown
1 6 line Wrasse
3 Chromis
1 Blue Hippo Tang
 
lol, you were fine until that last one. You will get all sorts of responses on this, however, hippos are some of the harder tangs to deal with ich and the likes. Get a small bristletooth IMO.
 
Stay away from the blue tang. The thought "I'll just get rid of it when...", is bad reefer practice.
 
I downsized from 150 to 75 with a hippo (which I had for two years) and had to sell him. I agree, don't even get the hippo.
 
Definitely no on the tang, its simply not big enough of a tank. My thought is always to stock for the tank you have, not the tank you hope to have at some point in the future. Things happen, plans fall through, that tank upgrade ends up being pushed to some future date and time. :) Also, even while small tangs need a lot of swimming room and hippos tend to grow fast. All around just not a good idea.

As for your other fish choices. Saddle back and naked clown, assume you're referring to A. ploymnus and A. ocellaris? Are they already paired? If not, while cross-species pairs do occasionally happen its not something that should be counted on. Saddleback clowns are known to be one of the more aggressive species of clowns. As for the six-line, be aware that they also have a reputation for being quite aggressive as well.

This is the clown I have. I was told it was a saddle back but the sign and all the other fish in the tank were normal ocel clowns. So I'm not quite sure what he is. I had him with another clown and they didnt fight.

taken apart my rock work? I moved some things around in it the other day. I had to seperate a rock from everything so my GSP's wont grow over every rock.

I mean, why bother asking what us experienced reefers think if your just gonna do whatever. I mean, do whatever you want, your gonna anyways, but why even bother posting the question.

Newbs get bothered when we don't tell them what they wana hear. So why ask.
 
I do have the Blue and the one clown, I was asking in the sence of everything else. And im not going to have a fit and get upset about everything else. I wanted to hear what everyone else thinks about that list and if I should do anything different. Yes i already bought the tang and maybe it was a bad idea, but asking for some incite after I already made a bad decision is not a bad idea. I realized buying the tang was a bad idea so I figured id run the list of everything else I wanted by the forums to make sure I dont make another mistake or another dumb purchase. So that is why I asked the question.

Good thinking! We've all made unwise impulsive livestock purchases before. Now you'll know better for next time. :)
