stocking suggestions

[Mashtun]

I am looking in to which fish I can stock my tank with and was hoping to get some help/suggestions. I want to be sure I don't over stock or add any non-compatible fish.

Tank info: 63 gallon 48L x 20W x 16H
Skimmer: CAD light 1150
Sump: will add about 20 Gallons water to system


For sure I would like to add the following:
1) One Spot Foxface
2) Percula Clowns
1) Purple Dartfish

If compatible and space remains I am interested in:
1) Kole Tang
1) Flame Angelfish
3) Blue Chromis
3) Kaudern Cardinal Fish
2) Twin Spot Gobys

I realize this configuration is overstocked, but I'm not sure how much I would need to remove from the list to make it work. I think the Gobys ought to be OK since they will be on the bottom, but I'm not sure about the rest. I would imagine it will be one or the other with regards to the chromis/cardinal fish and the tang/angelfish (if the foxface doesnt prevent either of those all together)

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly I wouldn't add a foxface to a tank that small. I wouldn't put one in anything less than a 5 foot tank. As for the rest of your list, twinspot gobies normally starve in captivity, so those should be avoided as well. I would only put 2 cardinals, as they will most likely pair off and kill the third. Same goes with the 3 Chromis, except people normally only end up with one. My six have gotten along well so far, but they seem to be the exception rather than the rule. Other than that though, Id say your list looks pretty good.

How about something like a cleaner goby and a royal gramma. I have a sharknose cleaner goby in my tank and the bigger fish love him. My royal gramma pair catches the attention of anyone that visits.

Completely agree all the way down to the suggested goby and Royal Gramma pair.

You could add a pair of watchman gobies if you want something on the bottom. If you're looking for a sifter, then a single Orange-spot Diamond Goby could work. They are jumpers and even just one would deplete your sand bed of little critters but will keep your substrate "clean" looking.. so that's something that you'll have to weigh out.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've had 1 yes, 2 no's, and 1 marginally ok with supplemental nori feelings for the foxface... So I guess I'm not sure on that one. I was most looking forward to that fish (mainly why I went with a 4ft tank not a 3) which is why I'm still holding out hope. I don't wanna make it miserable though, so I guess I'll keep my options open.

Neither of you two mentioned the kole tang. I might keep that one in instead of the foxface if it's compatible. What are your guys' thoughts on this.

I've revised the list to look like this

1) Foxface or kole tang
2) Percula clowns
1) purple dartfish
1) black axil chromis
1) kaudern's cardinal
1) flasher wrasse
1) royal gramma
1) red mandarin

I wouldn't plan on adding the mandarin for a year or so and plan to have rather an in-sump or HOB refugium with chaeto. From what I've read this size sand bed with a fuge should be able to support one, but I'm not sure how true that is long term. If it turns out the mandarin won't get enough pods long term I might sub in one or two of the gobies.

I still think this is probably a bit over stocked but I don't know. Any additional input would be welcome.

I'd like to add another no on the foxface, of any kind. For the Tang, I'd stay away from a Kole and stick to Ctenochaetus flavicauda.

The Ctenochaetus flavicauda looks nice but I can't imagine where I might find one.
