Stopping 6095s for feed pause...

Hi, I read somewhere (cannot find it now) that completely stopping these pumps for a feed pause was hard on them and would cause them to wear out faster.

Is there any truth to this?

No, the only thing stopping the pumps does is increase the build up of calcium, the motor is warm, and then you stop the flow which disperses the heat, so you have a small amount of water in the pump get fairly warm and precipitate the calcium and carbonates it is carrying. You just have to clean more often if you stop the pumps very often.
