Stopping encroaching Monti

Looking for ideas or way to stop a digi from taking over everything in its path. For some reason I didn't think it was going to roll through a tri color and starting to get really close to the pink lemonade.

I can try to chisel it back from the lemonade but i need to pay better attention when it came to the tri color which its already into. If I use epoxy or something, I would imagine it would eventually just grow over that as well, then what?

That's an acrylic rod that I kept putting off to cut before it grew over before anyone asks :)

Nice growth in that tank! I've had luck pushing back my Monti by chipping it away as you say. Just take a knife or bone cutters and break it back as far as you want. Mine is usually healed fully within a week.

I did allow it to go too far once and touched one of my acros. It ended up killing about half the base of the acro. So now I keep it trimmed and away from all acros.

Wow, that digitata out some feet down. I didn't know they would do that. I understand pink lemonade is pretty tough as far is acro's touching it. Let us know how it works out.

Use kalk paste to kill a portion ...

Thanks guys, i started chipping away, WOW did it start sliming/flesh flying around lol. Still some work to do but its a start!

For some reason, the digi and my Tubbs Stellata both encrusted like mad before starting to branch out. Maybe because they were in a more direct current...

I super-glue broken-in-half ceramic discs along the border, then wait until the shortcake encrusts one side and the Kelley Green encrusts the other, then I remove the discs and sell a batch, gluing more down in place afterward.

All recommended advice is good and you're right, once it's happy it'll just keep coming at you. It is now just a permanent maintenance piece, though if you ignore he fact that it's not an "acro" it does provide a nice splash of orange that is hard to get with acros. I've had to resort to the same thing with just about every monti I own. Even trying to eradicate some entirely but even leaving a single polyp that is happy always results in it coming back
