Storage container sump

Harder, like the larger rubbermaid sumps that are food-grade. The thinner ones that you can get at places like target are flimsy, can crack, and as far as what I've read can leech phosphates. I'd go with the larger stock ones, if that's what you've got in mind.

Well I'm at target and there's a big 45g made by sterilite PP5 rated which Ive heard is alright for tanks. As far as thickness, it's not extremely thick but I wasn't planning on filling it more than about half way

of course the server goes down lol. I bought it anyway. Worst case scenario is I return it if I get negative opinions about it. I don't think it will be too bad though.

Any opinions?

Yeah, been looking for a local place nearby us, Kevin. Seems to be none. I've found good stuff online here, but expensive: http://www.plastic-mart.com/item.aspx?id=913

I'm using one of the bins from HD for ATO at the moment but I'm going to set up and automated w/c + RO reservoir with the one I posted above. Not exactly what you're looking for but I think they have other stuff. The rummbermaid thick plastic feed bins seem to be real popular with folks wanting large sumps but I have no idea where to get those locally. I don't think anyone ships those.

http://www.ntotank.com/ is another good place to look but the 60 gal barrels are a damn good deal, I might have to pick some up... just not sure about the whole "barrels held vegtable oil" thing if that would mess with water chemistry at all.

Check out Grainger for the Rubbermaid stock tanks. They do have a "will call" store front at their warehouses. You will want to call ahead if you are looking for one of these. They don't have them in stock at each warehouse, but they can get it there in 1-2 days.
