Stores Specializing in Marine

I'm in St. Louis next week. I've seen the list of area stores, but still wonder if the selection of marine life is very good at the following stores:

Clayton Pet Emporium
Clayton, MO

Tropical World Pets
St. Louis, MO

Nemo's Pets
Granite City, IL

Slice of Nature & Old Capitol Aquarium
Vandalia, IL

---------

The above sound more like general pet stores. Do any of the above have a marine livestock worth seeing?

Thanks for the help and information!

I'm not familiar with any of the stores in Illinois but I do like Clayton Pet Emporium. In addition, I really like Marine Solutions and Gateway Aquatics.

Also, I know Marine Solutions and Gateway/Zomania have ebay auctions that you can usually get at a good price and just pick them up with you come to town.

Tropical World just enlarged their saltwater section by at least 5X.

Last time I was there they had a good selection of fish. They were working on getting their invert tanks setup and running and they had a moderate amount of corals.

That was over a month ago so I would suspect that they may be ready. Check back in this forum later today or tomorrow and I can let you know.

I seem to go to the stores in MO more often than the ones that are 10-15minutes from me in Illinois, that may say something.

Thanks Reggae Fish. I've seen the links to the other stores. Just didn't know much about Clayton P E. You make it sound worthwhile to visit there.

capncapo,
Thanks for that info. It's hard to tell just from a store name. It sounds like Tropical World P might be worth visiting. I'll wait to read your next post. Thanks!

d.french,
I saw the link/website for Aquatic Treasure. They are for sure one I'll try and visit.

Thanks all! :)

IMO Both Clayton Pet Emporium
Clayton, MO
and
Tropical World Pets
St. Louis, MO
are worth the trip. I bought a 90g RR tank from TWP and Fish as well as coral from both store.

Lee,

I'm glad to have you visit our fine city. A lot of those stores are very fine indeed.

For those who are newer and don't know who Leebca is, he's EXTREMELY skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of fish diseases. If you ever have a fish disease that no one can help, PM me and I can tell you what forums he handles those questions from.
