Storm on the way so I'm on the way to get gas for the generator.

So being in the path of the storm I'm on my way to get gas for the generator and tractor. I'm hoping the ice does not hit here.

what a weird season, another ~12in on the way where I am... I wish I was a kid again where the only thing on my mind would be is "hoping for a snowday tomorrow!"

We have been lucky for the last two years all the storms went north or south of us. This one appears to be a direct hit:thumbdown. And now they are saying up to 2 feet by the time its over. Yep snow days Im with yeah there. A teacher lives next door to me and I blow my horn when I go by there house on snow days lol. Hey if I have to be up lol.

I broke down and got a generator a couple of years ago and two days later the power was off for eight hours.

We recently made a short piece of extension cord with a male plug on each end, so the furnace could be hooked up to the generator. It was an easy and inexpensive way to keep the house warm.

I was gonna jump on you with a "Boo Hoo" because we've been gettin wailed on, on the hill where I live, all winter. BUT, this thing looks like it could get nasty. Fare the well and stay safe. Having a generator will keep you that much better off. That ice looks like it's gonna wreak havoc.

Yeah Cully I can feel for you guys up there. You have been getting hammered allot this winter so far. As for this storm I wouldn't worry so much about it if they were just calling for snow but it's the ice that worries me the most.

Huh...as of this morning, I saw that the mixed precip is "supposed" to stay dwn in the southern tier.

I always have gas on hand for the genny..But since that October storm 5 years ago the power hasn't gone out once..That storm wiped out so many trees/branches in my area it will take decades to be a real threat again..

It’s going to be really bad, my college classes are already canceled for tomorrow, last time this happened was 3 years ago!

I'm just on the boarder of NY around Binghamton and we are so close to the edge of the ice that maybe maybe not. I'm hoping for the later of course. I'm not sure where you are talking about the southern tier where?

We are firing up our generators right now.

yeah good luck to you guys Randy..I know Joe at SWP only has portable generators,so good luck to him and all LFS ..

Anyone that is close to me..I can set up a emergency tank in needed..But if things get that bad,I do not know how anyone would be able to get here lol

So far so good here this morning but more crap coming they say so still keeping my fingers crossed. Hope all is going well for you folks up north.

NWS & the media once again striking fear into the hearts of all! I want to be a meteorologist - what other job can you screw up at so much & not be held accountable? The whole world shut down in anticipation of this killer storm. What a joke.
