strainer?

How do you get a strainer to not sound like a toilet?
I have a 20L fuge that is getting fed from my 20L sump and it is straing back into the return side of my sump.

do you mean drain? try a durso. check this link and see if this would apply to you situation

I am draining out the side of the tank, so a stand pipe wont work for me.

this strainer is realy loud can it be fixed?

i belive you could still put a durso check the same link and go to popular moifications and look at the external durso. easy to do and might be wotrth a try you could put the strainer on as well you'd just have to keep an eye on it.
