Strange find in new zoa colony

I just picked up a new zoa colony from my lfs, after bringing it home I noticed 2 things, one that I have some sort of clam, about 2" across, attached to the rock with zoas all over it (kind-of cool) and a strange worm? At first I thought it was a spagetti worm, but inside the tube is a slug/snail like animal. I couldn't get the best photos, so I'll be tring again later tonight, and hope to get better ones. If someone could try to id this, or point me in the direction where I can do some research, I just want to know if this is something I should remove before something unexpected happens. Thanks for any help you can give me.

This was the best shot I could get of the animal...

And this is just the tube to give you an idea of what it looks like...

The pics are too small to really see the animal but the tube certainly looks like a vermetid snail. There's a lot of information about them available here on RC & on the web.

I haven't seen webs coming from it yet, though I did just purchess it last night. From what photos I could find it seemed to look like the snail...I'll check out the article. Thanks for the link, I'll let you guys know.

if it is a vermetid snail, i had one on my clam and got sick of the web/slime that it produced. so i filled it up with superglue, that stopped it.
