Strange Happening

Ok guys, I'm new to the salt hobby but have been playing with glass boxes for about 5 years. I have a BTA and i just moved this little 46 gal BF tank from its last owners location. Tear down and set up happened within just 4 hours start to finish. The move took place yesterday and today while looking at my BTA, it did what looked to me like vomited. It was kind of a small red blob with fine strings attached. What is this, scatt, vomit? Please help!

Sounds like you stirred up a ton of "toxic waste" in the move and now the anemone is dying. You should do a 10+ gallon water change and check all the levels you have tests for and post the results here. I'm assuming you are using all the same equipment from the old setup?

Yes I am using all the same equipment, but as i said the whole process took about 4 hours start to finish. (tear down to set back up) I had the water tested by my LFS, for the most part all the levels are good. My ammonia is a little high so I have done a water change and added some filter floss. As of today the BA has opened and looks GREAT, so I think he may be feeling better. Thank you so much for your response to my post. Ant bit of help i can get is helpful.

Thanks,

Glad to hear it is doing well. The moving of a tank usually stirs up a bunch of junk, especially from under the rocks and in the sand bed. An ammonia spike would definitely explain the anemone's actions and was mostly likely a temporary spike caused by the move. Good luck! And welcome to this great hobby. :)
