strange something

I'm seeing clumps in the sand appearing that have opaque arms coming out from them, the arms don't seem to move. Anyone have these? What are they and are they bad?

We'd need pictures before we could say anything. Are they beefy arms... or what?

They aren't thread thin if that's what you mean. They sort remind me of some kinds of roots you may see when you movesomething that's been laying on the ground for a while. I'll try to get picture but I don't seem to be able to get anything small, up close to stay in focus.
