Strange spider Web

Ok can someone help me id this strange looking spider web?

Ive been doing reefs for a while and never came across this before. Like a black widow or what hehe jk

Not sure but we removed it a few times and it comes back, so something defiently living near it and creating a nest or trap. this been going on in the same spot for almost a yr now. no sign of any creature tho. what makes it even worse tho is its a the bottom of the reef, so basically have to tear down hat side of reef to get rock out, and im really not into doing that lol. thats like a heck of alot of work and probably lose some specimens

hard to see anything in that pic but my guess would be a vermitid snail

harmless but their web can irritate some corals. Cover his hole/opening up with superglue or epoxy if you want him gone

aye sorry thats about best can get with pciture, but if look between the rock crevis can see parts of the web

google vermetid snail. Thats the most common critter that throws out webs

It could be vermetid snail slime, but I do not see the shell tube. I believe they are spaghetti worms.

Heres a picture of our tank so far, we been slow going with the corals and fish load, trying get tank cleaned up good of predators first before we invest more. mainly will be softies and lps corals, possible few sps frags and currently some plating monti. upper left corner can see the small zoo colony left after it was almost devoured by a snail we just recently removed. Torch coral in upper right was one of the first lps corals , hes about almost a yr now, and went thru some rough times, but managed to save one trunk of it. tank is doing good, but we still have a few predators to remove. so the war continues lol

Tank was set up 1 yr ago this month, and the rock wasnt cured to well to begin with, but its very nice rock quality. so you can imagine the algae booms we went thru the first 3-4 months and cycling tank at same time. Then we ran into serious problems in trying to keep a cal reactor consistent and after about 5 months of playing with it, we gave up and went to dosing pumps and b ionic and back in the days i used b ionic to with awesome results on sps and clams. i had a crocea clam that was 4" and in 18 months he was well oer 11" and weighted about 6 lbs, i know use his shell as a ashtray as a reminder of the good times

By the way, this tank here is a friend of mines, who i been helping. currently im renting so cant build anything. Waiting for the houseing market to collapse some more.

They look like spagetti wroms to me too. I've got them and to be honest, a bit concerned with them. Not sure if they are harmful or not.

well from what i researched so far, vertimeds arent harmful in small numbers or in areas with no corals, but they can multiply and thus irritating corals with there web, so basically long term , they can kill off a tank by smothering it basically and irritating corals to the point they wont open properly, we alos recently got rid of aspirsa anenomes, im sure i spelt the name wrong, but we injected him with some joe juice, and he never to be seen again, like said removed a zoo eating snail, basically wiped out whole colony to, but theres 14 polyps left, hopefully regen.now to work on this fire worm/spaghetti worm and or vertimeds. probably going to try to plug his hole once we find it with some epoxy putty to kill him off hopefully

Also like to thank everyone on the forums for there kindness and help and wise advice. when i use to build tanks, you only relied on the books ya read and your lfs guy. today with forums such as these, it has made the hobby so much better and intersting then ever before. And the sucess in peoples systems are proof of the constant info being traded between people that has lead to a great hobby.
