Depends on who you ask. Some swear by them, others like myself believe that claws are made for shredding and are far from reef safe. In a well fed/healthy system there is typically enough preferred food to keep them from picking or becoming aggressive towards tank mates. Then again they are a "wild" living thing capable of switching preferential food supplies.
