strawberry dottyback changing color?

Anyone why my Strawberry Dottyback (Pseudochromis porphyreus) changes color from pink in the morning / afternoon to dark purple / magenta at night ? I just got him and a firefish in my 120 and have no other fish. Its been a couple days and he's eating and moving and looking great....just wondered why the color changing? is it natural? it seems to just never heard this before. Anyone?

ahhhhhhh ok....I just asked the stupidest question....please disregard. After I asked it, I realized the difference is when I see the dark purple...my 10k lights are off and its purple with just the 20k's on.
