stray voltage = 0 ??

I have done stray voltage test on my 125g reef tank. All devices run through a GFCI. I have 2 power heads, a return pump, 2 300 watt heaters, skimmer, ATO.
Weirdly, I get readings of around .002.

My meter is set to measure AC voltage. Before I test I plugged the black probe into the ground hole and the red into a short slot of the outlet and got a 120V reading. Careful not to move black probe I moved the red probe to the tank and sump water took my readings then moved red probe back to the outlets short slot and again had a reading of 120V.

I am suspicious of such a low reading since none of my equipment is particularly high quality. Does this sound fishy (no pun)??

Thanks

Get an extension cord and plug it in. Put the other end in your tank and retest.....

that is really low.. i get between 1.5 to 3 v depending on when i test.. When our clothing dryer is running in the basement across the room from the tank is when i get the highest reading.. across from the sump i mean...

maybe the water is grounded somewhere else??

So whats the problem?
Its totally fine and some meters just aren't as sensitive/high impedance as others..

Nothing suspicious at all.. meter reads properly on line voltage and is more than likely accurate..

Yeah not even cool to joke about electricity. Ever seen arc flash burns or explosions? Or taken electrical classes? People die, lose limbs, etc. Not a good visual once you see what I'm talking about...

Not fishy at all, seems like all is well in your tank!

I have about 30V in my tank that I cannot seem to track down. Going to take to go one by one through my equipment tonight and see if it's from something. Just turning everything off doesn't fix it..

I guess i expected something at least in the single digit range. Yes, I have low expectations since some of my electrically powered devices are 3+ years old and have heard rumors that stray voltage could be associated with the problems I'm having with single polyp corals on the bottom substrate of my tank.
