Stray Voltage effects on coral

With over 45V of stray voltage in my tank will it effect my coral? I have read alot of articles that say it can cause lateral line disease, but nothing about its effects on coral.

Stray voltage can play havic. I think you can test for this with volt meter. Then if you see any stray voltage then turnoff equipment one by one to find the source. Just because you have this much draw doesnt mean its affecting your tank.

Stray voltage will definitely stress out your corals and fish. Invest in a grounding probe, it sells for around $20.

I've got my doubts as to how reliable testing your tank with a voltmeter is and how much stress it really causes to inhabitants. But that's one of those contraversial topics that could be debated endlessly without ever coming to a conclusion. Personally, I've had stray voltage in several tanks throughout the years and have never really witnessed any problems with coral growth, HLLE, and a plethora of other things people like to blame on stray voltage. In fact, for a while there it seemed like stray voltage was the blame for mysterious fish and corals deaths after people gave up on cologne and or household cleaning product fumes being at fault.
