stray voltage, poor polyp extension, poor growth

I was doing my usual sump cleaning, I had a small cut on my finger and noticed stray voltage in the sump. I do have a multi meter but I did not use it, I assumed that if I could feel it so could my acros.

This is the unfortunate part is I tracked it down to my main hammer head pump. (sequence brand) I do have a ground in the sump. It is a commercial product with plastic ends on the positive and negative and stainless steel on the ground, you plug it into a outlet. I have tried it with and with out and not much difference.

My question is has anyone had better success with other grounding methods? Or had problems with sequence pumps.

Also is it generally a problem with stray voltage?
