Stream and Sea Swirl combo

I am quite impressed with the Tunze Streams. What I am not impressed with is the ridiculous amount of hurdles a person must go through just to get one. I have been on a list with 3 online retailers for over a month and still have not gotten a controllable 6000. My friend Scott at Goochs corals said he has 2 6060's instock. I am thinking of buying one of those.

I really wanted a 6000 with a controller because I thought the pulsing would create a more realistic environment but, it has been over a month and no one can give me a straight answer so the 6060 may be my only answer. Can you believe Premium Aquatics today actually blamed the difficulty getting a pump today on September 11, 2001 and the terrorist attacks? Anyway, Scott was saying that either you told him or he read it somewhere that combining a noncontrollable 6060 and a stream would be as good as a 6000 & controller. If that is so, then my decision is made.

I was thinking of putting the 6060 and the sea swirl on opposite ends of the tank facing each other. There is about 600+ gph running through the Sea Swirl at present. Is that a viable answer to my problem? Have you seen it done? What would you do? My tank is a 4' 72 gal. bowfront full of SPS.

Next week I get more 6000 pumps. This would still be the best but yes a 6060 and a Sea Swirl would give a nice pattern. Their are no rediculous hurtles- just some patience required. Since the pump is identical to the 6100 except a transformer it is a one or the other situation for me. The factory ships either/or as they run batches of pumps. Two weeks ago I got a good supply of 6100's. This is the best 30 people can do and German employment law doesn't really allow for overtime or more employees and thy have 6 weeks of vacation a year. Customs has played into delays slightly but it has only added a few days to most shipments- September 11th hence does have a small impact. The main thing is production and while we are working to remedy this it takes time and at present as soon as we solve a production issue demand increases again so we just can't catch up. Next month a new injection molding unit will go online and last week a new employee was added to production so it will just take time, having worked for Tunze for 3 years now I know this is just par for the course and eventually things level out. It has never been and never will be our intent to be a manufacturing giant on every shelf across the country- our factory is still run by a man who bears the same name as the products.
